Meta is still "certified" under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework although they
- violated the GDPR by circumventing browser sandboxing to link browsing histories to individuals,
- falsely claim to have a legitimate interest in training their simulated intelligence on user data, which renders all data subject rights ineffective, and
- are facing numerous lawsuits because of other alleged GDPR-violations.
Self-certification works great, right?

This outcome was entirely predictable. The US launched a trade war against virtually the entire world. China, conversely, is fighting a trade war solely against the US. Naturally, China has abundant opportunities to redirect trade away from the US and towards the very nations the US is simultaneously attacking economically.
A lawyer in #LosAngeles who has been providing assistance to some of the people detained in the #immigration sweeps last week said Tues that at least 2 of the people who were detained had ALREADY been deported.
Atty Yliana Johansen Méndez said at a news conference that her firm had been contacted by the families of 2 detainees, & the families said their relatives had been sent to Tijuana, Mexico, within HOURS after they were arrested.
#DHS released the names and photos of 6 #immigrant men who were detained in #LosAngeles last week & had criminal histories. Those 6 were not clients of Ms. Méndez’s team.
