'The protests began in the small province of Minnesota, located in the agrarian 'Middle West,' over the killing of an ethnic minority by state security forces.'" Below the caption is a photo showing a nighttime scene of a protest. In the photo, a group of people is gathered, with one person prominently holding an American flag, which is being set on fire. War is not a morality play. It is not written in the language of heroes and villains. It is a deplorable bureaucratic process, a strategic wager, and a human disaster.

Iran may not be Iraq. But America, still, may be America.

And that’s what should worry you most.

Sorry Joan, huge fan of your work, but can not get behind any nuanced bothsiderism interpretation of bombing Iran. The world is more dangerous today full stop.

Health insurers are using AI to decide whether to cover treatments recommended by doctors. These tools can delay or deny care that should be covered, all in the name of saving money.

(And there’s no public information on how it makes decisions, and no outside testing to ensure they're safe, fair, or effective.)

The image shows a transparent pen with a red ink reservoir and a gold-colored tip, resting diagonally on a lined notebook. The pen's cap is red, matching the ink color. The notebook has horizontal lines and is open to a page with red handwriting, partially visible. The pen is positioned centrally on the page, with its tip pointing towards the bottom right corner of the image. The background is a wooden surface, likely a desk or table, providing a neutral backdrop. The lighting is even, highlighting the pen and notebook without casting harsh shadows.

Gen Z is about to experience the futility of protests that Gen X experienced 22 years ago. The way to create change is voting.

Protesting is just slightly above writing mean tweets in influencing U.S. government policy.

Slightly.

in reply to Dare Obasanjo

I agree with the futility of protest. But voting is not that much more effective when you only have two options.
in reply to Dare Obasanjo

the US is well beyond the point where voting can create change. The majority of US citizens are frankly evil or out of their mind. It is no coincidence that Trump managed to win twice despite being a senile lunatic, an incompetent coward and a disgusting rapist.

My wife's Gazelle this morning in Minneapolis: chain cut, then they cut the cafe lock (I thought that would be hard).

Look out for a light green Gazelle near Minneapolis Uptown transit center... they might have hidden it in the bushes along the Greenway until nightfall
