"Vor zehn Jahren trat in Spanien das sogenannte Maulkorbgesetz in Kraft, das die Meinungs- und Versammlungsfreiheit erheblich einschränkt. Während die progressive Koalitionsregierung dieses »Ley Mordaza« bis heute nicht abgeschafft hat, häufen sich Festnahmen und Verurteilungen von linken Aktivisten."

@edgeofeurope
I think the way to teach kids about this is to have them make up nonsense sayings and look them up using ChatGPT or whatever AI they prefer. The AI will happily make something up. Even better, they can try several different AIs, each of which will make up something different. It's one thing to be told AIs bullshit; it's another to see it in action.

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday slammed attacks on Iran as “unprovoked” and “unjustified” in a meeting with Tehran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, but did not announce any concrete support to his key ally in the Middle East.

“This absolutely unprovoked aggression against Iran is unjustified,” Putin said in televised remarks to Araghchi.

Putin has pitched himself as a mediator between Iran and Israel, an idea rejected by US President Donald Trump last week

WSJ

- The US asked Arab officials to convey to Iran that Israel was seeking to end the conflict soon. Iran responded that it was not yet ready to back down, because it 'feels obligated' to respond to the US attack

- Israel is looking to wind down its military campaign against Iran in the coming days. Israeli officials believe they are close to completing their list of targets and hope this will open a path to end the fighting 1/2

in reply to Fou

- Arab officials say the U.S. has asked them to relay Israel’s desire to de-escalate, but Iran has so far signaled it is not ready to stop, citing the need to respond to the American attacks

Israeli Channel 11

- Israel sent a formal message to Iran saying Tel Aviv wants to "end the war".

Iran responded by saying that the time for ending the war "has not yet come"

I.e. "Please, we're running out of Iron Dome ammunition and we need to restock!"

in reply to Fou

I think that unless some tragic mistake is made by those involved we are close to the end of the war.

Iran will bomb an evacuated US base (it has been done in the past) for the public opinion in the country and soon the war will be over for now

Qatar closed its airspace.

U.S. forces have pulled military assets from the Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar days ago.

We did not start the war and did not desire it, but we will not leave aggression against our country without response.
We will defend the security of this dear homeland with our entire being and we will respond to every wound that afflicts Iran with faith, wisdom, and determination

Kim Don Trump has arrived at the Situation Room where he will assess Iran's attack and determine whether any retaliation if required.
in reply to Fou

Iran says it used the same amount of missiles against Al-Udeid as the amount of bombs dropped by the U.S. on Fordow (14)

So if I understand the statement correctly, there will be no follow-up from Iran.

War with advanced notices!!!!!!!!!!! ⬇️

"Iran gave advance notice of Qatar base attacks to minimize casualties." - New York Times

in reply to Fou

As expected, some analysts believe that we are heading towards the end of the US-Iran hostilities
in reply to Fou

The NYT reports, citing three Iranian officials, that Iran provided Qatar early warnings about its attack on the US Al-Udeid base to reduce the risk of casualties.

They said that the strikes were intended as a symbolic response to the US attack on Iran, but were carefully executed to offer all parties a way to deescalate.

The officials compared the approach to Iran’s 2020 retaliation for late IRGC Commander Soleimani, when it notified Iraq ahead of launching ballistic missiles at a US base.

Iranians had given advance notice so the US evacuated the base

60 Minutes Archive: Iran’s missile strike on the US al-Asad airbase in Iraq that partially destroyed it. Iran gave a pre-warning, allowing U.S. forces to take cover.

Trump:
-

Iran has officially responded to our Obliteration of their Nuclear Facilities with a very weak response, which we expected, and have very effectively countered.

There have been 14 missiles fired — 13 were knocked down, and 1 was “set free,” because it was headed in a nonthreatening direction.

I am pleased to report that NO Americans were harmed, and hardly any damage was done. Most importantly, they’ve gotten it all out of their “system,” and there will, hopefully, be no further HATE

in reply to Fou

I want to thank Iran for giving us early notice, which made it possible for no lives to be lost, and nobody to be injured. Perhaps Iran can now proceed to Peace and Harmony in the Region, and I will enthusiastically encourage Israel to do the same.

Thank you for your attention to this matter!

“A record number of Americans are living outside. Cities have responded by removing encampments from public spaces, a practice commonly referred to as ‘sweeps’. In the process, workers often take people’s belongings — including important documents, survival gear and irreplaceable mementos.

Over and over, people across the country told ProPublica they were devastated by such losses. We gave them notecards so they could explain in their own words how the sweeps have affected them.
Here are some of their stories.
