Iran, European troika agree to resume nuclear talks next week: Reports byteseu.com/1212088/ #Nuclear

in reply to Bernd

Okay fedi, if possible, let's have this conversation about bluesky:

It's terrible, and yet more popular than the fediverse, what's going on?

What are we doing wrong that a significant part of the world's discourse is still happening on bluesky (that I believe is a worse version of the fediverse both ethically and technically) and not on the fediverse?

Let's try and have this conversation without being holier-than-thou towards bluesky users.

@fancysandwiches oh yeah absolutely. The whole of bluesky feels like a huge doomscroll for me whereas while the fedi is sort of like that as well, atleast we can curate our own experience and prioritize it, unlike bluesky where the fedi equivalent of "explore" is the primary experience (which is filled with doomposts)
in reply to Jon

All that being said, it's not like Bluesky's got all this solved. Only about 15% of signups are still active users, not that much higher than fedi. MAU is decreasing, not growing. Bluesky's still mostly US-centric; Brazil, the UK, Canada, Japan, Germany and a few other conutries have a lot of activity but after that it gets really patchy. So while there's a lot to learn from what they've done well (and how to adapt it to the different norms here in fedi), there's also a lot to learn from what's not working so well both there as well as here.

I had something on my mind so I went for a bike ride and I saw horses and cows and goats. I still have something on my mind but now I’ve seen horses and cows and goats.
in reply to Ciara

Lmao. I've seen fly masks like that a few times. Always makes me laugh.
in reply to Jordi (Y'all'd'n't've)

@Jorsh It's the first time I've ever seen one. I can't decide whether it makes the horse look Darth Vader-sinister or Masked Stranger-dashing.

We already know that #Trump and the Turd Reich are scaring lots of other countries off their Nazis, as I hoped.

At this rate maybe he'll even finally scare the UK off monarchy! I have no idea how credible this reporting is, but I'd like to think our suffering in the US is at least useful for exposing others' lamentable views. 😂 😭
