So I am looking to dump some BigCorp services and move to self-hosting more of my interwebs shit. I am thinking:
- Raspberry Pi 5 8GB + a pair of M2 SSDs
- Ubuntu LTS + ZFS
- Ghost for websites
- PeerTube for video
- Maybe NextCloud [edit: was ownCloud]
Anyone got words for/against? Also, should I use docker?
[I have fibre, static IPv4 addresses and have been self-hosting my email on a Pi 4 with Ubuntu and ZFS for years, so you may assume I am not a total idiot]
@shollyethan I tried uffd first (based on emfcamp using it) and gave up because it is so fucking obtuse. I did a quick search and Keycloak ticked the boxes of:
- open source
- complete
- easy-to-deploy
- well supported
- well documented
There are no doubt alternatives and I'm always up for hearing first-hand accounts, but Keycloak took me only a few hours yesterday to get working
