I struggle to be sympathetic to the Texans coming out to now yell and scream at their elected officials over how the July 4 flooding was handled.

I know fair elections aren't a thing in most of Texas and that's horible but these folks voted for this. Over and over. They vote for these trash humans for whatever reason then are surprised when those same people betray them.

I'm sad over their losses, but at some point, you know, personal responsibility and all that.

Those dead children didn't vote for it, and a sizeable percentage of the adults didn't either. This is like saying Palestinians voted for Hamas, when 75% of them weren't even old enough when Hamas was elected.

@farbel That's a good comparison (Palestine). I appreciate that. Thanks!

And yeah the kids didn’t vote. Kids dying of measles didn’t either. We can only hold adults responsible.

As so often happens, they trusted the wrong people. They were told others were taking advantage of the system and the system allowed it. They trusted the people who said they would fix the system. Now that *they" are the ones in need they're eyes are opened. We can only hope they move forward with this experience changing the way they see themselves and others.

RIP, #CBS Trump's cronies move in at the Tiffany Network. #Trump administration, as a condition of approving the $8 billion sale of #Paramount to #Skydance Media, has succeeded in demanding that #CBSNews (owned by Paramount) appoint a “bias monitor” to oversee its coverage.
Trump #FCC demanded an in-house stooge at #news division to alert corporate bosses when the journalists get out of line and exhibit “bias.” #bias is whenever #DonaldTrump doesn’t like in a story. terrymoran.substack.com/p/rip-…
