Just despicable. And actually very similar to the plot in an episode of #TheResident.

"Hospitals knew a heart device led to more patients' deaths - but they kept using it

Almost half of patients given a heart pump, after the #NHS had raised concerns about it, died soon after."

How did YOUR day go?
I replaced one of these? $138. It took all day.
Removed a closet, tore out a wall, & drove to hardware store. Job was near completion when a solder joint broke & I had no plumbers' solder or propane. Store closing, drive faster!
Just made it, plus gas, another $100 w/solder

I've got one of those in my basement I need to install myself. This is what's currently there.

We bought a Gerber set with ceramic and brass for around the same.

@That_One_Guy Yours has connections to unbolt, mine was soldered in and the wall closed. could not use a torch, if I had propane, the house would catch fire. I had to cut it out and put compression fittings on. And when the solder on the shut off valve leaked, I had to jump right in the car and drive like hell to get there before they closed. There's nothing else for 100 miles. But, I'm going to shower shortly, it's been a long day.

Good you got it done. Mine will definitely be a bit easier, but I have no shut-offs besides the main. So I'd like to get some of those put on there.

@That_One_Guy
My city home had no shut-off valves when we bought it. The main shutoff wasn't able to be closed off, the handle was against the concrete wall, and everything you touched, you had to turn off all the water, and finish before putting it back on.
Every time I take one off, I put in valves

Okay, vital book launch nibbly question for my lovely Kiwi and Aussie people:

When making fairy bread, white bread is of course mandatory but do you traditionally do margarine or butter?

(I was raised with marg on mine, but I love butter... I'm not sure what other people prefer though!)

For the non Kiwi, Aussie people, fairy bread is a traditional kid's party treat. Fluffy white sandwich bread, butter/margarine and sprinkles.

Well I'm not Aussie, but my maxim is, there is nothing better than butter. Don't ruinit wiht margarine!

margarine; spreading butter without shredding the softest most non-artisanal supermarket white bread requires too much care to efficiently prepare the eleventy-seven hundred slices needed for small human (3?)’s birthday party.
