A russian "dark fleet" LNG carrier, CCH Gas, carrying sanctioned gas from russia’s Portovaya plant, reappeared off China’s Hainan Island after a covert ship-to-ship transfer on Oct 18.

in reply to Eugene McParland 🇺🇦

It’s likely heading to Beihai terminal, signaling China’s expanding imports of discounted russian LNG despite US sanctions.

The move follows China’s recent acceptance of Arctic LNG 2 cargoes, impacting regional gas prices.

Ok, so... if you're asking your friends to help you move, PLEASE don't demand they show up at 530 on a weekday when they're all coming from disparate parts of town. Fucking chill for two hours so traffic can die down. Also, be sure your reason for making *six people* emit shitloads of greenhouse gasses while spending a collective 8.5 hours in the worst traffic isn't "I needed a nap"

Fuck's sake

Production in Germany’s chemical sector is languishing at a three-decade low, an industry group said Tuesday, warning that government efforts to revive the wider economy were going nowhere.

Chemicals count among the top industrial sectors in Europe’s biggest economy, which is home to titans like BASF and Bayer, and is seen as a bellwether for the health of the broader economy.

This guy runs the Windows unit at Microsoft, and he's telling you that the company intends to infiltrate "AI" into every aspect of the operating system.

If you use Windows, this is an injection of a living, self-replicating virus into your digital existence.

Yes I use Linux.

in reply to Dan Gillmor

If you buy a device with Windows on it then you're really only renting it off Microsoft.

I'm waiting for the day when someone gets sacked because the AI-enabled kettle that Windoze detected and installed when it first entered the house informs the owner's employer when they exceed their recommended daily tea intake.

in reply to Dan Gillmor

I think there could be an upside to this: it makes AI on PC's noticeable.
No longer an abstract AI powered pc, but a PC where the new Clippy is interfering with your daily activities.
