The ant nest serves as the skeleton of the ant superorganism. Turns out that a colony’s demographic and physical history are sketched into the structure of its nest, with older ants responding to catastrophe and digging differently.

I took a piece of chicken out of the freezer to roast for tonight's tea.

I might try an authentic American recipe 🤔

in reply to Marvin Oppong

It's Fahrenheit.
I agreed to go out and people today.
I should have put conditions on it.

Australia just banned kids from social media. Shouldn’t we all?

#Australia plans tougher #GunLaws after father & son killed 15 at #BondiBeach

Australia vowed stricter gun laws Monday as it began mourning victims of its worst #MassShooting in almost 30 yrs. Police accused a father & son of killing 15 people at a #Jewish celebration at Sydney's famed Bondi Beach.

The older gunman, 50, was killed at the scene, taking the tally of dead to 16, while his 24-yr-old son was in a critical condition in hospital.

What's this? Australia will do the logical thing in response, because it's the logical thing to do?

What a concept. Alas, will never work in the USA....

amazing what a functioning democratic government can accomplish when the safety of its citizens is their number one concern. Australia also requires all citizens 18 or older to vote which leads to turnouts over 90%, unlike the 45 - 60 percent turnouts in America.

One of the unfortunate things about people always treating you weird because of being a foreigner is that you get a little paranoid about it. You start wondering did they do or say this thing because you're a foreigner and they're being weird or xenophobic or am I attributing their actions to that when in reality they're just a garden variety asshole. You get so in your head about it when you get these constant microagressions and I think that's the real insidious part of it all.

A red silicone muffin pan holds twelve individual baked items. Each item is contained within a ridged, green paper liner. The baked items are round and appear to have a golden-brown, slightly bubbly surface with darker, caramelized edges. The center of each item is lighter in color and has a somewhat uneven, textured appearance. There is no visible text in the image.
