I've recently set up an immich server for myself.
And it can create public albums to share.
I've set up a test one: photos.guedelhoefer.dev/s/test…
That should be able to replace the google photo uploads maybe? It's running on my home server, so limited by all that, but maybe that's enough?
(If the test is successfull, I can create a pastagang user for us)

some nice bonuses to port over from google photos would be:
- a feed and/or notifications for newly added photos
- see who uploaded what (maybe an optional name field)
may be impossible which is also fine but mentioning it on the off-chance

Seems immich stance is "just disable download" if you don't want gps data on the public photos: github.com/immich-app/immich/d…
Also seems like iPhone's strip those on safari downloads, but androids don't.
Don't really wanna dox people if they upload photos from their home. (which happens with pastagang sets).
