#WordWeavers #ketchup 1, What are your wildest (writing-related) dreams for this year?
My wildest dream is to enjoy the crap out of writing the silly things I dream up.

@kimlockhartga We could have listened. We should have taken it seriously.
But we were so stuck of "them" that we never considered "them" to be "us". Kim Crenshaw should wear a deservedly smug 'told you so' t-shirt.
Race, gender, sexuality, class; all are political categories used to control us.
Remember, when something in the news upsets you, you are *not obligated* to spend the next hour hunched over your phone reading live updates and social media hot takes.
You *can* stay informed without succumbing to this urge -- an urge deliberately conditioned into us for decades by the 24-hour news cycle and exploitative for-profit social media.
Step away from your screens, let your psyche absorb the blow, and read about it in a newspaper tomorrow morning if you like. You have permission!

this is true! Iβve read a study (that I canβt find right now) that direct survivors of tragic events end up with less psychological trauma and PTSD symptoms than people who are following the event through news and online updates.
Because people who live through it then go and focus on moving on and surviving, while people following it from afar continue to seek out further news, footage, commentary, and keep reliving the event over and over.

I'm not sure whether to believe the UK "played no part".
We must have known about it in advance - else WTF are we paying all our spooks for? - and deciding to say nothing and do nothing and just watch it happen doesn't sound to me like "played no part", it sounds to me like "helping it happen".

Hey, y'all. Happy making it to the real #Slackerday Saturday this morning. π
I'm off to a really rough start to #myday on this rainy, wet, soggy, foggy, sucky Saturday morning. π
Every ache n pain n stiff n sore part of ones body is in an uproar with me this morning. π₯΄
Getting up to pop my meds n pain pills extra early hasn't helped much. But then, they haven't had much time to kick in yet. π
So, I'm foregoing my coffee sipping and sun searching to stay snuggled nice n warm in bed until they do, and I feel the need to heed the call of the coffee or Heather's hollerings to move again. π₯±
Thankfully, being #Slackerday, I can do that. πͺ
I sure do hope y'all are up n having a much better start to your day #today. π€π

Living in the U.S. is a little like being in a dissociative state. There's such a disconnect. Near me, new businesses and housing are going up like gangbusters, even though we know thousands have lost their jobs. Then I find out that my government has kidnapped the leader of another nation.
Everything feels brittle and shattered. And when everything breaks into jagged pieces, you're much more likely to cut yourself, even while cleaning it up.
