Well, that's better than mine. I fell out of a dirigible from a high altitude into the ocean. I don't remember why I was in the dirigible or why I fell out. All I know is that I really didn't want to survive the impact since drowning would be worse. Especially since I can't actually drown in dreams, I just discover that I can breathe under water (unless I'm having sleep apnea).

‘You can’t progress without a struggle’: Ukrainian sumo star Aonishiki on the next step, and life back home | Japan byteseu.com/1774903/ #Japan

As the disquiet over tweaks to the student loan system (by which most students in the UK finance their fee payments at university), and specifically the rising schedule of repayments grows, the Q. is whether Rachel Reeves is delivering a similar meltdown in young people's support for Labour that Nick Clegg's decision on student fees delivered for the LibDems?

The Gorton & Denton by-election may well be an indicator of the damage done to Labour's prospects among the und-25s!

Yup, I completely agree.... I'm not against a contribution (as clearly individuals do capture some of the benefit from university education) but that should be dwarfed by public funding (as society is the major beneficiary of wide university education). The current system is a disgrace driven by the notion that society gains no benefits from higher education....

Rereading Dreams from the Witch House: Female Voices of Lovecraftian Horror.

"All Our Salt-Bottled Hearts" by Sonya Taaffe is just heartbreaking.

Lovecraft created Innsmouth and Deep Ones as odes to his xenophobic fear of miscegenation and race mixing.

I've read many stories that studied them with a more nuanced eye and this is one of the best. What does it mean to have your heritage blasted and erased by an angry government? How does your diluted bloodline fair when the dreams start?

I've read Ruthanna Emrys and this story could easily fit in her world.

Sympathy for anyone who's ever felt alone and apart, for those who were loved but never understood.

Don Lemon arrested by federal authorities, his attorney says

in reply to return2ozma

"The arrest of journalist Don Lemon in connection with his reporting on a protest in Minnesota should alarm all Americans," Katherine Jacobsen, who works on the organization's U.S. efforts, said in a statement. "Instead of prioritizing accountability in the killings of two American citizens, the Trump administration is devoting its resources to arresting journalists."
