Ello everyone!
My birthday ducked!! Yeah auto correct, there were many ducks involved... π€ Well, you get what I mean, I guess...
The day started out well. Went to the gym, had a small walk with Arwen, worked on my blog, worked in the garden... My parents came and all was good.
They left to go home and I wanted to relax. So... I was just on the couch and... Mum called me....
I thought that they had forgotten something. But nope. If I could pick up Bas (their little Wiener dog), as they had been in a bad accident... What?!? π΅
Mum told me where they were and I drove there. What I saw.... Well, it's shocked me loads.... There was a very sweet woman who was with my parents (she was just a bystander) and she was super nice and calm. And I felt I could trust her with my parents. So I released Bas, checked him out, and I took him home.
I visited the neighbor, as I needed to get it off my chest, and I needed to tell her that I had Basje, so we could not walk together later on.
Bas had just eaten a bit, and then mum texted me that they were ready to be picked up. So, I took Bas and we headed there. I picked them up, and had to drive the long way home, as the highway was closed off due to their car and the bike being there for research.
I helped mum to get the glass off her. She had it everywhere. And when I couldn't help anymore, I headed back home. I was all shook up. And so tired....
I had a short night with some weird dreams. I still feel off. So... I will probably lurk here some... I may like and boost. But if I interact less, or in a different way, please know that it's the shock of it all wearing off...

So... Yeah... A birthday to remember... But not in the best way...

Yeah it started as a decent bday but now... It's one I'll neve forget. But not in the best way...

in reply to Kevin Davy • • •Thanks! The motorist that hit them, even though it's dad's fault, he's taken to the hospital. He was badly injured. We don't know if he was speeding, and that that may be the cause of dad misjudging the situation... But hey hit them hard. And it wasn't pretty... π It was definitely a shock to get there to see that man, and my parents in the car, and Bas in the back in all the glass...

They're shaken up. And mum is rather bruised. But nothing as bad as the motorist...
It was a big shock for me seeing it all like that, so I can't imagine how it must have been for my parents...

It was horrible and I just hope that the biker will recover fully... Dad and mum will struggle with the loss of the car, with the physical and mental things, but they're still alive and kicking, and that counts...
I really hope the anxiety will leave me soon, and the adrenaline rushes as well, as it's making me feel exhausted...

And thank you! It was last Sunday, so I'm slowly recovering. And my parents as well... And I keep hoping that the biker will recover too...
I don't think I could celebrate my birthday the next few years... I think it will trigger the memories that won't do me any good... π Ah well, it happened. And now I need to learn to live with it, and that will take some time...
