Internet platforms have reached end-stage enshittification, where they claw back the goodies they once used to lure in end-users and business customers, trying to walk a tightrope in which there's just enough value left to keep you locked in, but no more. It's ugly out there.

This is largely pointless and is likely to create unintended consequences.

You vastly over estimate who cares about migrating data, the notable differences between services that have been popular over the years (myspace, livejournal, facebook, tiktok), and most importantly why people move services.

Moving services is not always because an egotistic megalomaniac takes control of the platform or the functionality degrades. Having to operate in a hypothetical world where there's no friction moving between platforms is likely to lead to a even lower common denominator and short form content dopamine hits.

Not to mention for the most part companies do this to make money.
