The sudden appearance of FIFA’s Peace Prize, meant to reward those who unite people and act for peace, sees its first award go to Donald Trump, with no clear criteria, no transparency, and no apparent cash, raising questions about whether corruption is playing out in plain sight, which, given both parties’ history, would hardly surprise anyone, and perhaps Trump should get a prize for creating disunity instead. One can only hope FIFA’s accountants and auditors are keeping a close eye on how this and other initiatives are funded.
