Happy Accident

8am in mid-November, still quite dark and we were just leaving the hotel. The moon was rising above the glaciers so I stopped to take a shot of it.
What I hadn't realised was that I'd left the camera settings I'd used for aurora the night before. As a result this is a long exposure and, I think, it works rather well.

ISO 400, f/2.8, 5 second exposure

Dammit, I thought I was beginning to 'get' Islandic phonemes, but how the hell does "Höfn" come out as "Hupp"?

Thx!

fn is pronounced pn. The N is very very subtle though, almost breathless, which is why it sounds like hupp to an English speaker.

My 'friend', I'm nearly ready to retire from work, and Iceland is on my bucket list of 'stuff to see b4 you die'.

Sadly I'm too late to sit in a hot-pool with my late fiancè watching the midnight sun at midsummer, and drinking champagne from the permafrost, which is what we'd always said we would do. Hey ho... maybe one day, with someone.
