Thunderbird is the client I used decades (yes!) ago when I had to go from my Amiga client Thor & my Linux console Client Mutt to a foreign machine running win32 / 64
On all platforms Thunderbird gave me a consistent playing field for read mail and Usenet
Now I get ease of mind knowing I have local copies again of my mail data in 2024, since I had forgone doing so for a while
