As for slow development, perhaps you missed the 120+ PRs I merged in the past month (+ 2 releases).

in reply to dansup • • •afraid I have to agree. The mobile apps are not released and admin isn’t working in them on the latest releases.
The gif handling is known to be buggy. Hashtags still don’t parse correctly in some instances.
Lack of reliable notifications or email notifications for some things so easy to miss reports etc.
And that’s just off the top of my head immediately without looking at my notes.
It’s difficult to follow your mass PR floods as they aren’t squash committed on GitHub with clear histories and literally end up with just “merge staging” but I can’t argue you do put in a lot of work. You do, however, need to start accepting contributions more readily and invest time in pipelines for validation IMO.

Are you interested in helping triage some of these issues you highlighted via Discord? If so, lmk, this is the kind of feedback I need that is actionable, and if your willing, could really help me to test the solutions before shipping.

Why can't I customize the about page more? why are stories not synchronised to mastodon, pleroma, *key? what is with relay support and profile backfilling?
I mean I could do a session in discord, they're are all open issues on github already, maybe it would just be better to put milestones and will do won't do labels.

In my experience with activitypub servers. Socializing as in actually talking to people is great, but content discovery can be kind of horrid
Sometimes we do want an algorithm or some means of discovering the popular content
