the real questions: was this as such before? Was there confusion about this? Why is this only now discussed? Do they have any legitimate claim to authority on violence or only on implied basis by what once was a "noble" goal? Was this only meant as emphasis or as new information? Should this have been known already? When was this matter of priority investigated?

Isnβt this the kind of situation where if an officer is arrested for that, the entire force will quit? Itβs a good idea, and what local police should have done from the beginning, but Iβm not convinced it will be an effective way to protect the public
