The only way to defeat a narcissistic sociopath is to starve them. Protect yourself from their bullshit, of course, but move away from it. Let them have their stage, but refuse to be their audience.

Wee little union sign I painted in 2022, maybe? This week’s question comes to us anonymously: How do we survive being online? Erika and I bought a radio. For...Mike Monteiro’s Good News

in reply to Brad Koehn ☑️ • • •Very wise advice @Brad Koehn ☑️. In this we being to see our own power. When I visit npr.org I am not visiting cnn.com or foxnews.com. When I post here I'm not posting on a commercial social media site. Powerful rulers seem powerful, but in many ways they are not. Starship recently exploded because, well, physics will obey its own laws the will of a "ruler." Immigrants deported won't be picking fruit for growers in Florida. This new set of circumstances will once again give us an opportunity to intentionally disconnect sources of pain from our life.
This next bit of advice I'll find difficult -- but I think it important. Christian thought is "love your enemy" (Matthew 5:44). Buddhist thought of tonglen involved breathing in pain and suffering followed by breathing out peace and healing. The greatest pain ahead I believe will be for MAGA folks who realize the mistake they've made.
Consider these comments from NPR of a Trump suppo

Consider these comments from NPR of a Trump supporter at the Inauguration...
"Well I am an immigrant from Vietnam, it took me a very long time to get my citizenship so with that struggle in mind I wanted to make sure that the integrity of immigration was upheld in this country because my mother came here from Vietnam. My mother came here from Vietnam with two little girls and nothing. For the American dream."
What's most amazing of course is Trump's administration is absolutely not about accepting a immigrant from Vietnam with two little girls and nothing! This person has been trapped by the false notion that there are vast swaths of illegal immigrants to cheat and do not deserve to live the "American dream" like she does. The false idea of zero sum resource limits can trap lots of people. And just think... perhaps this commenter had a child in the US while before she had permanent residency. Maybe she was waiting for paper-work to complete. As an immigrant myself I know the time it takes and life can happen. So... how might she feel when she realizes President Trump as issued an EO to invalidate US-born citizens like that?
Take care -- as our Diaspora page says... "Be excellent to each other"!
