Happy #Doorsday to all the lovely people here!
I just wanted to say how much I enjoy being on Pixelfed (I've been here since 2018). The photos/art I get to see, the great image descriptions/alt texts I get to read, the interactions I have. Thank you!

(And if you don't already, please add #AltText to your images. Even as a sighted person, I find (even the shortest) image description very helpful as it gives me more context and/or tells me more about what the photographer was thinking when they took that specific picture. Thanks!)

I think image descriptions are very, very important because they enable everyone to experience photos. Unfortunately, I keep reaching my limits with many descriptions, so please bear with me. Here is my sorry attempt to describe today's photo: In a yellow portal with a pointed top, there is a dark brown double-leaf door. The right wing of the door is open and leads into the dark interior of a building. There you can see a black and white tiled floor, a dark staircase and a chandelier with candles burning. The left wing of the door is closed. A yellow wreath with ivy and roses hangs there. “Come in, we're open” is written in the centre of the wreath. A glass arch with ornaments can also be seen above the door. It reflects a gray sky and the top of a tree. Hope this is enough to make you 'see' my photo.
