I have been properly taken in by NixOS, but as a enthusiastic Emacs user I know I should probably give GUIX a try. Any experiences here? Tips?

@MishaVelthuis Guix' docs at guix.gnu.org are pretty good...also if you like #emacs and don't get lost in () parentheses, then you will have a lot of fun writing or customizing packages. Have a look at github.com/ll4strw/irods_guix where I created a bit-to-bit reproducible #irods environment in the spirit of my original post.

@MishaVelthuis At the end of the day, your goals will dictate which tools to use..#NixOS and its own language have a bigger community at the moment..but there is nothing better than hacking in #Guile if you love #emacs and the #GNU project.
