So, my name is Anna. I've been with the prompts since the beginning, and for almost a year now, I've been writing Star Ryde, an original sci-fi story set in my own universe, more sluggishly than fluently.
This month, I have the honor of posting the Fantasy Prompts for the community.

What else is there? I'm affected by poverty, due to early retirement, have type 1 diabetes, suffer from depression, love gaming on consoles, don't really like computers (PCs), enjoy pen & paper role-playing ->

- Yes absolutely TLDR to not simply translate my German answer:
I grew up with adventures and exploration, excursions into humans and their behavior. I hope I can bring something like what i felt as kid/teen/adult into my work in a more broad and inclusive way.

04.08. What's the first thing that comes to mind when you think about your story?

- Kira, for some reason she is my face of Star Ryde despite not having a full facial structure in mind or a skin tone. Than it's Ashlei and that I really should get back into writing on it. But I clearly was a bit over ambitious with the English prompts in addition to the German ones.

If you could give your former self ome advice, what would it be?

My German answer today includes a inner self dialogue analyzing myself, why I am so bad in following my own advice I spare you that part.

"The advice is simple sit down on your 2-9 letters (or 16 + a space German has many words for your butt) and simply write, it hasn't to be good. It can be made good later, but if you try to make every scene a masterpiece right away you will not progress in any way."

After which I got philosophical...

Not really good, rather stressed.
It should take place before the departure of the Ghoz'Tarc. Anika would probably rotate in the newly expanded kitchen with a few volunteers. Preparing ingredients. It would probably be "Bronze" the Admiralty, including Admiral Ron Hackett Anderson and some Union representatives. Of the crew, only Captain Anika Johanson, XO Kira Knox, Flight Commander Abbishek "Arkham" Pakthi, Dr. Kaiden, Chief Technician Trawella, XO Jenkins, XO Troika, Dr. Waberi, Security Chief Crosby, J., Rose & Talisa would be allowed to attend & the latter 3 only because they are part of Kira's ground team.
At the end there would be a small wrap up in the Captain's cabin discussing the details of the mission with even less crew.

J.'s special blue fried noodles from her home colony and the Draken mysterious, greenish glowing, flame inferno pudding that is actually served flaming. Together with Lorgat stripes flamed on the pudding.
As drinks, whatever the Admiralty would bring.
Probably a few bottles of Romulan Ale,* if bottles of this licensed product could still be found, otherwise from Admiral RHA's private collection of fictional SciFi licensed drinks.

*Because Terrans love their Ancient SciFi, at least most of them, there are all kinds of food and drink from various franchises, in fact, they are the only licenses that still actively exist from those franchises.

How do you feel about reworking texts without the author's knowledge to include advertising? (Search query: advertisement for Maggi soup in a Star Trek novel)

Explanation in case the English search query doesn't provide and results.
This one is a curious case of the early 2000 when the German Heyne Verlag (Printhouse) Implemented such stuff in some German translated books.
Terry Pratchett could intervene and stop that from happening this to his work.

- Short answer I hate it longer answer will be provided in the German answer, probably.

World building through advertisements, something that is particularly popular in video games. What do you think about it and would you use something like this in your work? (Ex: The Outer Worlds, Cyberpunk 2077, Fallout 4 & 76).

I like to use it to include eastereggs or to emphasize details and differences between societies.
It can even be very inspiring to just make up nonsense and write an ad for it. Even though I detest advertising in everyday life so much that I would prefer to ban all advertising.
In Star Ryde I would probably only use them if I wanted to build a scene around them (see beginning of answer).
In role-playing games, I often use them for ambience or perfidious distraction.
In creative video games, I even build my own billboards.

I guess is stick with my German answer here someone from the Fediverse I guess since Terry Pratchett is impossible maybe some one non controversial from his bubble.

14. You wake up in your story. What do you do?

Swear, stand up, check my belongings and where I am, some places might be deadly. So hopefully I'm in Union space and not on Moraka aka Talith Prime because drunk by breathing is an cruel death.

Going to a hospital and telling them that I'm a diabetic type 1 and otherwise my memory seems compromised because the stuff I remember don't make sense.

19. Is there a self-insert in your work, a character that corresponds to you?

In my "usual" works not really. I am partly in each of my characters, there is always a part from which I explore & develop a character. This are often character archetypes in which I than implement something from me to brake up this archetype. Sometimes more sometimes less.

The whole thing has become a bit of a thing of its own, in RPGs as in the not so seriously ment Prompt answers of "character meets author_ity.
In the beginning Anna was an Character in Fallout 76, than in Fallout 4, than I changed my YouTube account to it & made a Twitter account for it. Than the one here.

Anna has become my link into my fictional worlds & in that regard a self insert.
Also I occasionally react to the Name Anna in daily situations.😅

Have you created a character who is your exact opposite?

No for a ton of reasons. Exact opposite would mean that their is a scale/slider or something that allows binary opposed personality traits, body traits & is generally acceptable. We like to think in binary or that everything is binary. If it isn't sparkling water it's still water. If it isn't male it's female but not only is this unrealistic it also "comfortable lies" to our perception. The opposite of a ball as an example would be a anti ball but most people would instinctively say a cube, which might be okay as an answer but how many corners make a ball? None? No exactly as many until people perceive it as a ball. But still even if we accept a cube as opposite we still have no perception of an anti non shape.
That said everything one calls an opposite is an mental "misstep," a concept to understand the world we live in easier. And thus none applicable without further framing what "I" means.

I also refuse to write down my political thoughts on current world events.
There's a reason I'm not in politics, despite the fact that I've had more than one opportunity.

And pure dystopias... Many will just understand it as a guide.

It depends what I do with them but for me they are the bread for my sandwich.
While writing I can make it a great sandwich or a bad one but at least they help me to produce something that I know. A sandwich.

You and your most recently written character wake up next to each other. What happened or what's happening now?

If I had only read my own questions prior and understood it, my most recent character is "me" in in the SRSIRAU. So yeah imagine a "are you a Mirror image" scene and a complete freak out.

What happened? I probably broke mentally and shattered as a person that now hallucinating or dreaming of meeting herself. Way more interesting would be the alternative I guess a spiritual ritual in which I discover aspects of myself which I'm not aware of.

My otherwise last written character would be AJ my Antagonist from Star Ryde in which case it also probably would find place in the SRSIRAU. So 'I' dimension shifted into the Star Ryde Universe and it would be probably lead to some sort of run in.
For Star Ryde I have no clue because I shouldn't be there.

The opposite space story.

Around the bubbles we live in, under our feet and above is ground, earth, it reaches from one bubble to the next. Space diggers call these bubbles stenalp they are the natural space we inhabit. Due to the pressure that exists in this infinite ground, we have to dig our way from one stenalp to the next with drilling caterpillars. In which other beings live that look exactly like us, they also have our habits and eat and drink the same as us.
The dangers for space burrowers are manifold. Giant tentaclenoses that can tear apart any caterpillar with their claws. They look for wyrms to eat, these wyrms eat everything in their path, including us & our caterpillars.

The Khan scene from Star Trek into darkness...

In an apple store somewhere in the galaxy a white dude stands in so much lens flair that his nose is almost gone, behind a don't touch screen and says "I am Khan Noonian Singh." With a gravity that should pull everyone down...
And it doesn't work because no one of the new fans of start Trek can know who Khan Noonian Singh in the main Star Trek Universe is nor did the movie much to establish who he is. It's like telling an alien your name is James Bond in an Indiana Jones Movie. An Easter egg nothing more.

Not really as with my answer from the 22. and the question about cliches I say they are a useful orientation point but need to be broken up by something.

Emotion in writing. How do you deal with it when your emotional state blocks you from writing?

I try to not force anything, instead I go inside myself and feel for what it is, that's blocking me from writing.
In the current situation it's fear of a lot of things. After finding out I distract myself. Favorable Videogames with a real good story or with creative elements, if it gets really bad simple shooting does the trick. While doing so, I make mental notes what I could implement or how I could have a solution for something like this in my story or if the thing I'm doing could be an interesting element in my story.

Time for the StarRydeSelfInsertRomanceAlternateUniverse.

Kira felt something was wrong, it felt like she was forcefully, moved at the same time as if she where pulled from something sticky, she looked around in the room, quite, bathed in sunlight and littered with pieces of paper, towering, being bound by strings, made into packages, folders over and over.
She touched different pieces one, through her gloves she felt a sizzling in her finger tips, one piece catched her views. It was a hand written side on which whole sentences seem to be... Cut out? Burned out? No more like carefully ripped from the paper.
Something moved.
She jumped behind the desk grabbing for her sidearm. As she closed her hand around the grip it didn't react, no visual or soft sound indicator that it was activating➡️

"No it can't work here. Try to connect to Ash, it won't work, your armors electric systems won't work either." She took a breath, it almost sounded reliefed. Kira checked her gear AMD than a shock rolled over her.
"My implants? Swex my Implants im going to die here?" Kira startet to cough uncomfortable as her lungs started cramping.
"Stay calm, you will not die, promise to not punch, kick or headbutt me and I come out."
Kira swallowed. "I promise."
A tower of paper moved to the side Anna's face was behind it at ground level only a meter away from Kira.
Kiras eyes widened, that was Anna but her face was different➡️

Anna activated the device and Kira Tool a breath. It felt cold as the medicine went into her lungs. For a brief second she panicked even more before she felt her lungs relaxing. "Good girl." Sarah turned up the bass, although the vacuum around the ship would not carry anything further, she intended to fully test the structural integrity of the small ship.

She wasn't interested in anything rebellious, just the pure enjoyment of loud metal sound in the blackness of space.

She took off her spacesuit, secured it to the wall, switched off the gravity, pressed play and pushed off from the wall, ready to be carried through space by the sound waves of the music.
