One of the most frustrating things about the #Gnome desktop is the lack of continuity with window borders. It seems like every app just does their own thing.

Not sure if that's a thing in other DEs? πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈ

It's unique to GNOME (and Cinnamon as a GNOME fork). They do not implement support for what is known as "server-side decorations" (where the desktop draws the window borders) using the xdg-decoration Wayland protocol. Every other desktop does, however.

I use #KDE #PlasmaDesktop (through the #Fedora KDE Plasma Desktop Edition) and virtually all applications except GNOME ones use server side decorations and provide consistent access to window management functionality.

Tris reshared this.
