On the plus side the weather is (seasonally adjusted) mild this week. On the not so plus side chain saw is in for repairs- my options are a) nearly $500 and a week or so for parts to arrive or b) nearly $600 for a new saw. b would be the obvious choice, but I really don't have either of those sums..lol Asking them if there is a less complete repair that might get me a functional saw for another season or so...(this is to cut deadwood to heat the house).. wish me luck! #winter #CountryLiving

EDIT (for clarity)-Well, there was no less expensive repair *option available* on the saw-- it was all necessary- not all that surprising after years of heavy use! Still unaffordable for me... it looks like I'll be downgrading to a smaller saw, similar to what I had years ago... diminshed function in some things, but better than not having a saw (I've had to do some wood by hand last couple of days- slow/hard work!)
