A single thin dark twig or sapling tip of balsam poplar arcs upward from lower right to upper left of centre. The stem is decorated with clusters of frost flakes in delicate elaborate white to translucent pyramidal/tree-like constructions pointing various directions, and clustered more thickly around the tip. The background is a blurred abstract arrangement of light (snow/frost) and dark (tree trunks). A filter gives a hint of violet and a white vignette has been applied to the edges.
