@dch Can’t wait to try it out ! Do you know if it helps in the flowing problem. When I update a jail with my current setup. I am not able to do it in an automated way, because sometimes config files aren’t automatically merged for example sshd and often it is just something like version number update in this file. Does pkgbase helps in this case ?
I've migrated four servers with no major explosions so far. `pkg upgrade` patches base advisories instead of using `freebsd-update`. YMMV, of course.
Drawbacks? Just don't run `pkg remove -a` or similar as it can now clobber base and break your system. I expect they'll include some protections for this before its finalized.
