When I first watched Dexter I thought it was unrealistic that he had so much plastic wrap and then I came to America. To a business Costco, specifically

I was just telling someone how it’s taking me years to finish my 1000 sq ft roll of aluminum foil from Costco

Five gallons of soy sauce. 60 lb of honey. 3 gallons of dill pickles.

Sometimes when I watch documentaries about Pompeii excavations I think of future excavations of suburban America.

‘People bought things in physically impossible sizes’

‘There was so much abundance, but only for the people who already have lots of stuff’

‘We are reconsidering our assumptions of how humans in the 21st century lived, because we found kitchen condiments in vat sizes that don’t make sense’

Other things you can get at Costco.

80 lbs of cheese: $1099

A coffin: $1599

That cheese feels really expensive.

$1099 = ~$1,500 🇨🇦
80 lbs =36.3 kg
~$41/KG🇨🇦 / $13.75/LBS USD.

I paid >$5 for 400 grams today, about $12.5(🇨🇦)/ KG or ~$4.25/LBS USD.

Never realized it was so much more expensive there.

400 5
1000 x
