There must be freedom; it is the very basis of peace. There must be freedom from all the values of opinions so that we can together – actually, not theoretically – see that we currently have no peace. That is a tremendous demand, because we live on opinions. All the newspapers, magazines and books are based on opinions. Somebody says something; you agree, and that is your opinion too. Another reads another book and forms another opinion. To find out the true meaning of peace, the depth of it, the beauty of it and the quality of it, there must be no bias. That is the first demand – not that you must have faith in peace, or make it the goal of your life to live peacefully, or search out what peace is from books or from others, but to inquire very deeply into whether your whole being can live in peace.
