Most of us, right through the world, are disturbed and discontented. Being dissatisfied, we want more prosperity, more things, more books, more amusement. But there is a deeper discontent which is not satisfied by external acquisitiveness. We then pursue inward acquisition, the mind demanding complete satisfaction from this endless discontent. We seek something that is enduring, satisfying, and we call it by different names: God, truth, bliss, happiness.
