I've started looking into #Friendica a bit. Would love to hear some other opinions about it. Do any of my friends on here use it?
I like the idea of having #rss feeds alongside #ActivityPub. I might like a mashup of my social and my feedreader.

I looked at it a while back when I fist started fiddling with fediverse stuff, and the aesthetic was really off-putting, but it seems there is now a more modern theme in general. I've currently signed up for a different instance and am playing. I'm encouraged to see yours though. I may have to look at it more.
Right now I'm wondering about two things primarily. (1) Control over content. How easily can I filter out what I connect to. I'd love to be able to block certain instances or accounts, and I don't know if that control is there. (2) How hard is this thing to self-host if I wanted to spin up my own instance. I'm not even close to a developer, but I've found that #Pleroma easy enough to manage (with the help of an online hosting service). #Friendica seems much more resource heavy.

I may have to look into it more.
