Let's not talk crazy, have you not heard of the "divine right of Oligarchs";)
I think, personally, this is what frustrates me so much when having these types of conversations with people. Eyes become glazed over and talking points come out about whatever special interest group struggle is being highlighted at the moment, that this is THE thing that needs to change.
Well, how about the foundation of the whole system that controls how everything else that sits on it works?!
Until we rid ourselves of the parasite puppet masters, all we're doing is arranging tables on the deck of the Titanic.
BTW do you possible have a link to this entire discussion?
@lps you'd think it would be obvious that economics and politics are inherently intertwined, and yet a shocking amount of people doesn't seem to get that.
Not sure what the entire talk is unfortunately, saw the clip on tiktok.
So easy to say and understand, but the people on the global south, and many on the capitalist countries that are treated like slaves, dont get it. Even if is said so a five years old child would understand it. 😕
Well this makes sense, when you are faced with survival there are no cognitive "resources" to spare on the big picture.
Sadly, this seems to be the goal of our governments in the West, to keep us all divided into silos of ideology and fighting so we too don't have the "resources" to see where the real issues lie.
@lps @DBG3D I'm somewhat sympathetic to the fact that people have little energy for self development. On the other hand, look at the horrific conditions of the workers in Tsarist Russia endured. Yet, somehow they found the time to organize study groups and read Marx, and build a movement that eventually overthrew the system of exploitation.
People today have so many advantages with prior experience and theory being readily available. Yet, class consciousness is practically non existent today.
I posted this in another thread, but this is a very encouraging movement ... #Advertising is a huge part of this problem. Basically high intensity legal #propaganda driving #overconsumption
