(It's a pretty cool concept overall, but I think giving KDE Plasma for Linux newcomers isn't really the best idea, because the tons of customization options, and occasional bugs here and there might scare away some Windows users. I would rather give them Zorin OS with their customized version of GNOME, or Linux Mint / LMDE with Cinnamon. (No, I'm not a KDE hater, I think it's a great option for those who want to fully customize their desktop experience, or the PewDiePie type of guys who already adopted the mindset of tweaking around, playing around with the options, not wanting to go back to Windows when encountering a bug, but it's not for every newcomer.))
Wayback 0.1 released as a first preview release:

Bluesky introduces age verification (using payment cards, ID scans, or face scans) for accessing adult content and direct messaging, and content controls for UK users:

(Yeah we're heading into a dystopian future, where you can't use social media without giving up sensitive information... Or can't send messages because a small portion of predators also use that feature... It shouldn't be the responsibility of governments and social media platforms to protect children, it's the parents' task to protect their children. If governments would really care about protecting children, they would rather push campaigns targeted towards parents to raise awareness of the importance of paying attention what their child is doing online. But nah, this "protect children" thing is only pushed for emotional manipulation, so that the governments can cover their arse, while building surveillance infrastructure.)

“Mozilla says that this new privacy feature works by splitting exceptions into baseline (core functionality) and convenience (extra features), allowing you to choose improved site compatibility without compromising key privacy protections.”
That’s it. Not one example of things in 2 categories where there used to be one category. With the Mozilla Foundation acquiring an online advertising company and steering into AI and ads, every change to #privacy features needs to be scrutinised. Does it make ads work better? Is that the “improved site compatibility” that they’re talking about?
It’s a rubbish article because it does little more than restate what #Mozilla apparently said. It ads no information and doesn’t even attempt to put the statement into context. It doesn’t even lin

It’s a rubbish article because it does little more than restate what #Mozilla apparently said. It ads no information and doesn’t even attempt to put the statement into context. It doesn’t even link or explain the source of Mozilla’s statement. Where did they “say” that? I need to go there if I want to understand, because this author couldn’t be arsed.

in reply to Fossery Tech • • •Right. I read it. Perhaps the article is referring to this CHIPS feature? If so, they failed to use that word in the article so that I could connect their informal description with the specific feature they are discussing. And the release notes don’t give more info, either.
Which is why it’s a rubbish article. I learned nothing more than what was already present in the release notes. Indeed it was worse than the release notes because it uses colloquial language without precision. I can’t follow up with confidence I’m looking at the same thing they’re talking about because they aren’t clear enough what feature they’re discussing.
