I love it when people are like “I support your opposition to all of these other injustices but this specific one that benefits me, personally? Now that’s a step too far.”

I think there's an Upton Sinclair(?) quote about something like that... how hard it is to get someone to believe something is an injustice if their.job depends on it...

Phil Ochs:
"In every American community there are varying shades of political opinion. One of the shadiest of these is the liberals. An outspoken group on many subjects, ten degrees to the left of center in good times, ten degrees to the right of center if it affects them personally."

@davidculley I’ve never seen this before and was not aware #perplexity “the #gazagenocide denying chatbot “fact checked” for Ben Shapiro… not surprising they’re desperate to create their own #Wikipedia

> It’s pretty clear that Wikipedia is biased. I’m happy to support anyone who wants to build an alternative to it that’s more neutral and unbiased using Perplexity APIs. It’s a long project that needs serious commitment. So, please ping if you want to do it.

@oatmeal Ben Shapiro wants to be able to tell his fascist and zionist lies, run Perplexity live while he does his podcast, and be able to say, "See, I fact-checked my comments, live on the air, Perplexity agrees with me, so it's true what I'm saying, I'm not lying to you."
