Look, we all know Fahrenheit is the most nonsensical and most arbitrary measurement in the US (sorry @caseyliss), but I would like to posit that American Wire Gauge gives it a run for its money.

What in the fuck is even happening here.

I'll see your wire gauge silliness, and raise: consider the gauge of firearms.

I mean, they *could* just tell you the diameter of the barrel. But why do that, when they could tell you the number of lead spheres of the same diameter that it takes to weigh 1 pound?

I can’t even comment on AWG because you are patently wrong about Fahrenheit

Yes, Fahrenheit is the ONE imperial measure I prefer over the metric, at least when talking about weather.
