in reply to Fedi.Tips π • • •You can have featured hashtags here on your profile, but if you want to get a bit more creative with it and have more than 5, you can use an external service like linktree and do something like i've done with them for any topic you'd like to make discoverable in that way.

The trending page isn't the problem as that's trivial to fake, the problem from their POV was people using and following hashtags as it bypassed their control.
For example I saw some people who came here when Instagram switched off hashtag following last year, because this was one of the ways they kept in touch with people.
