Thanks for this informative post. It never occurred to me to use CamelCase for people with screen readers.

The trending page isn't the problem as that's trivial to fake, the problem from their POV was people using and following hashtags as it bypassed their control.

For example I saw some people who came here when Instagram switched off hashtag following last year, because this was one of the ways they kept in touch with people.
