So. got email from service provider (financial statements I need for compliance blabla).
Except, seems he forgot the attachment (what, is this 2002???).
So I reply, all friendly, "Hi! I think you forgot the attachment?".
Hit send, and immediately walk away, cause had to run an errand.
Come back 2 hours later, see edit window for #thunderbird is still open - click through...
Popup: "Did you forget to add an attachment?"
🤦♂️
Can't even really be mad...

I use Thunderbird as my email / calendar client, but I don't really like the appointment reminders that it shows. So I turned those off.
But my calendar is self-hosted, as an app within Nextcloud (running on my new FreedomBox from Libre Crafts). So I added my Nextcloud account in the Gnome settings, and it shows appointment reminders that are integrated into the desktop (appear under the clock).
Thunderbird Pro is getting closer to its Early Bird release! Find out what that means and what it includes in our latest update.

@Blort I want to give up on Thunderbird and try out #KMail, but it doesn't look *good* to me... The UI isn’t very inviting, and the text is rather small.
Also, it is missing Mail Merge (#Thunderbird too but at least there is an add-on for that)
I've wanted to love KMail for so many years, but every time I try it, it's just missing so much stuff that I use daily. Labels. Conversations view. Filters.
I'm curious how Merkuro (sp?) is going. It was a rather nice calendar app that apparently added email, so there's hope there.
For the moment though I'm stuck on Thunderbird even if it maddeningly and mystifyingly chooses to not let you use filters outside of the root email folder.
I can't believe that FOSS / Linux actually nailed video editing and gaming -two areas once thought impossible - before getting a decent email app.
I wonder whatever happened to KDE Raven?

I need:
- Multiple separate inboxes (NOT aliases!)
- #IMAP / #SMTP, the whole alphabet, I want to use #Thunderbird.
- Not "one of the big guys" like Google/Microsoft/Yahoo/WhatHaveYou
- Protonmail is... Not sure, but their "email addresses" === aliases
- I'm going to have to stick with #SelfHosted am I not?
WebDAV Calendar (With Thunderbird or Betterbird email client) + @libreoffice . Top notch productivity suite. Will do anything your office needs. Don't have an indepth review right now, but I *have* daily driven this combo for 2 decades and it has never failed me.
I love #Thunderbird's simple html mode. It gives you just enough HTML to get the jist of what's going on, without giving full control over the author of the email.
It's a nice middle road. :D

Suggested alternative to #Thunderbird for android? (or do you know what causes this issue?)
I use Thunderbird on my android phone for my email hosted through my web hosting provider, my domain (different registrar). For some reason, I can send and receive #email just fine, but on my phone, when I send it, it doesn't save my sent email. It makes it to the receiver just fine, but I have no record of sending it, let alone what I've sent. When I check my Thunderbird on my Mac, it's also not there, but when I send from the Mac, it saves to my sent emails.
It's been like this from the beginning. I've tried a couple things, but I haven't had the time or energy to solve it, so I just haven't deep dived.
