Nvidia tests of Intel’s 18A chip manufacturing process “stopped moving forward.”

In the spring,Reuters broke the news that Nvidia and Broadcom were testing Intel’s 18A process for chip production, but in a profile today of Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan, the outlet now says Nvidia’s test has ended, regardless of their new $5 billion deal.

The report doesn’t say why, but in October, Intel CFO David Zinsner said 18A yields were “not where we need them to be to drive the appropriate level of margins,” and that it could be 2026 or 2027 before that changes.

#SocialHub community forum has the #ActivityPub plugin enabled yet 1st with full open, untweaked federation settings. Accessiblity for any #fedizen got a real boost. Yet with big negative impact on 'sense of community'. It's up for debate whether adding #fediverse support in early stages of dev was a wise move. And whether the result is net negative or positive (I think the former).

Any fedi dev: Think hard what it means to be federated. It's more than just 'plugging in'. Consider the #SX side.

@yala currently there is less of an issue than previously. But the federation for a long while added everything with a hashtag of #ActivityPub, and this added a 'spout' of all kinds of stuff from across the fedi. Random topics and context collapse followed. Furthermore there are no titles in #microblogging 'sticky notes', so excerpts from first line of text were shown, making it even more messy.

Effectively #SocialHub topic list became like a link aggregator for sticky note excerpts.

We had really good experiences with two federated categories following each other. It might seem this depends a lot on the use case and how it's set up.

Waiting for private category federation to get crackin'.

It's like "I like the internet, but why is it a global internetwork? Seems like a waste"

That's it's raison d'etre. Without federation, there is no fediverse, and without a fediverse it's just another Twitter clone.

That would be the same incredibly reliable justice department that recently released illegally redacted files, complete with an amateurish attempt to shift attention by mocking up a photo of Bill Clinton and Michael Jackson?

Trustworthy, I’m sure…
