People thinking passkeys are the one true way to do authentication, have forgotten that many users still use shared and public machines, like those at the local library...

“I think I know how to use passwords securely, so passkeys are annoying and nobody should use them.” is tech-speak for, “I don’t care about the online account security of other people.”, or more succinctly, “I don’t care about other people.Ricky Mondello (Hachyderm.io)
I don’t understand this comment. All of my passkeys are accessed by my phone scanning a QR code that the operating system throws up. Much the same way my TOTP keys are on my phone, not my device.
A properly configured shared machine would refuse to store passkeys locally.
The inconvenience of a passkey is no more than that of any other 2fa device.
If your argument is that people don’t have a separate device at all for their passkeys or 2FA, then yes it’s a problem, but not one that has a technical solution.
Usernames and passwords are insecure and unwieldy in this day and age.

I can't wait for the day Trump dies and we all get to have a field day writing about him like he tweets about people when they die.
Sorta like this.
"Donald Trump, a sad and deranged man who despite having all the privileges one could ask for chose to be a vile human and died with no one caring about him.”

I'm on a short bridge, standing on a milk crate for a better view. A tribe of gorillas inhabits the creek-side below. The creek is known as Blood River, but nobody knows why. There is a beat up old suitcase somewhere near...Eric Jennings (killyour.guru)
Democrats Abroad remembers Rob Reiner as a staunch defender of voting rights, especially for those abroad. He always used his platform for the good of others and to the benefit of all those who had the incredible opportunity to know him. The tragic loss of him and his wife Michele this weekend remind us to cherish each moment and move forward with the love and empathy Rob so proudly stood for.

in reply to afreytes, 👻 of 🎄⌛ • • •I think it might have started with media reporting on a police report, I think from the US, that went something like "a big boulder the size of a small boulder is blocking the road".
I *distinctly* remember seeing that posted and reposted *a lot* on Fedi a while back, but I don't recall the exact wording. Maybe someone else can help out there or know if that was a humorous reference to something earlier.
