I quite strongly disagree with the characterization that if one is critical of passkeys, then that's the same as not caring about or even being disdainful of median users.
My own personal experience with passkeys is *abysmal* in terms of UX, just straight up *abysmal*. I want passkeys to succeed, to finally fucking end the fourty-plus year experiment with making the public writ large manage passwords. But passkeys, as currently implemented and shown to users just *suck*.
100% I've got one I can't figure out how to remove/change with Apple. On my desktop (with a keyboard with finger scanner) It says “Tap your ios device" or something vague when I try to use a passkey to login. No idea what that is. So every time I login I have to extra click to get to "use password”

Passkey originally crated in Apple Passwords, since deleted. Now want it in Bitwarden. Attempt login: Bitwarden error “No passkeys found for this application.” Elect to “use device or hardware key”, scan QR code, no passkey found, “use Bitwarden?”, choose CVS login entry in Bitwarden. Error, “Passkey not recognized.”
@rmondello Like, I really do like the concept of Passkeys, but the inability to manage passkeys on most websites, and the extreme lack of portability is absolutely a problem.
@angry_drunk @rmondello those are due to specific implementations. Google handles them across 6 OS’s and just as many hardware platforms.
The website issue isn’t a passkey issue, it’s a shit website issue. The difference is basically non-existent perceptually, but there’s also no way other than consumer pressure to make websites fix that. Apple/Google/MS can’t do that.
@bynkii @rmondello I have continually acknowledged that the fundamental concept of Passkeys is good, but that the various and wildly inconsistent implementations are the issue. Having an actual way to transfer Passkeys between managers would go a long way to ameliorate this issue, and Apple absolutely has the ability to affect that.

VR nausea is weird. I start to feel carsick essentially the moment a car starts moving. I even get nauseated in a swing set. So when I tried virtual reality for the first time, I was sure that I would start projectile vomiting. Instead, nothing. Not even slight nausea.

The story says the scam was tied to an org called Chance Letikva (chanceletikva.org) but stops short of figuring out who's responsible.
I spent about 10 seconds looking at the passive DNS for this domain, and found some interesting leads. Passive DNS shows it references the email address davidm@yeahdim.co.il. That email address is tied to multiple website registrations for a person in Israel by the name of David Margaliot, and also Shoshana Margaliot.
A search on this name in Domaintools finds the name David Margaliot tied to at least 25 domains, including ezri.org.il, which is a very odd site that features a huge image of a young child who is apparently in the hospital holding a gift wrapped box with a teddy bear. The site asks for donations but has a st

The story says the scam was tied to an org called Chance Letikva (chanceletikva.org) but stops short of figuring out who's responsible.
