Finishing up the news post for the upcoming #GIMP 3.2 release!

Having reviewed a year of development, it's amazing to me all the new features we've implemented (some of which I'd forgotten aren't already in the current stable 3.0 release, like the Shift + X shortcut to swap back to your prior tool).

We're aiming to release 3.2 this weekend. Hope you all like the new update!

Ma première coccinelle de l'année... Lundi, il a fait très beau (+14℃) et il n'en n'a pas fallu davantage pour voir des signes que le printemps s'en vient. J'ai aussi vu mon premier vol d'outardes qui commencent à revenir. Pour la petite j'ai pensé lui offrir un morceau de salade...

Gimp got a third RC since November 2025, Neovim 0.12 is due by March 28, 2026 according to their GitHub with – as of this very moment – 42 open issues in the milestone.

Hey, #GIMP using friends: I have either discovered a bug, or I am fatfingering myself into a mode over and over again.

Every time I switch to a selection tool (oval, rectangle, lasso), I somehow end up in SUBTRACT mode, and have to mouse over to the tool options panel and click the "Replace" button.

I have never, ever consciously switched this tool to subtract mode, which leads me to suspect that I am fatfingering it back into this mode somehow.

Today we released a third release candidate for GIMP 3.2; we are moving towards a final GIMP 3.2 release, so if you find any problems, please report them! There’s a link to Gimp Bugs near the bottom of www.gimp.org.

NOTE this is not yet the final stable 3.2 for production use, it’s for testing & early adopters.
