@baxaphobia @coboldragon I thought I had as well, but obviously, fragments of it we're hanging on. This is me, trying to function with the temperature of 102. It got a little scary.

I don't remember when exactly I read my first comic book, but I do remember exactly how liberated and subversive I felt as a result.

Just upgraded my #Friendica node to the new stable version 2026.01, and it went without a hitch. Thanks again @Michael 🇺🇦 and team!

I've had to wear big boots to school for FOUR days. My nice little leather dress shoes are just sitting there collecting dust, but there is too much snow all over NYC and it is like I live in ALASKA or BANFF or something.

Boots just are not cute.

there’s a comic printing service everyone seems to love that we tried to use to print the comics (needed as props) for our short film Long Away

only the cover would be seen on camera, so for the interior we reprinted our comic that the film was adapted from, which is a very trans story

No matter how many times I try to switch to Skanlite and Skanpage entirely, it just isn't as intuitive to me as Xsane. I can't tell if Xsane is just better, if something is lousy about Skanlite and Skanpage, or if it's just that I used Xsane for so many years and I'm resistant to change.
Also, I wish this software could auto send my scan to PaperlessNGX.

in reply to Miakoda

For image-based stuff, I'd agree, as #Xsane is also my goto. But when I just gotta scan one or two documents at the house for something, it's simple-scan. As for work though, when I gotta scan tens or hundreds of documents and name them each individually, nothing beats a nice little script with scanimage, convert, and sqlite. Read in the info from db, select the one I need, ask for further input, output to file and mark the item in the db.
in reply to eshep

@eshep Right now, I'm in a decent flow with Skanpage. I'm trying to get comfy with it cause I know Xsane continues to age, and I want to be comfy in a second program by the time Xsane stops working. I've got my Paperless-NGX mounted with sshfs. Scan page page page, export to PDF to the consume folder in Paperless, "Discard all" in Skanpage, rinse and repeat.
in reply to Miakoda

@eshep One thing I really appreciate about Paperless - I don't need to decide titles and tags and what not at the time of scan. That's crucial for me for actually getting the scanning done. I just set the default output filename with today's date and time, which means they all get a new filename, Paperless is set to add the "Inbox" tag on new uploads. Later, I just review whatever has the inbox tag to set titles and what-not.
in reply to Miakoda

@eshep I also have Paperless set to auto remove the inbox tag when I save new details. I also have some stuff set to add "For deletion" when whatever category of document is aged out of still needing them, like old tax stuff. Though, I haven't had paperless long enough to see if that "for deletion" automation actualy works.
in reply to Miakoda

@Miakoda
I tried dickin around with #paperless a while back but couldn't get it to work for the way I already did things; mainly offline/remote location issues. Although I hadn't till this post of yours thought about running it as a local service solely for these work tasks. I'm gonna throw this on my laptop and give it a proper go as local-only.

Thanks fer the brainstorm!

@Miakoda
If the past 30~ years of UNIX/linux has taught me anything, it that that's the key to all of it; knowing (of) as many ways to skin cats as you can ...and using the ones that work best for you for a particular situation.

We have a 16 month old. Here is a list of things he's done today. Just today.

- Pulled raw egg shells out of the trash and threw them at his older brothers
- Stole his mother's tea strainer and threw it in the toilet
- Rearranged all the rugs in the house and tried to eat the dirt he found under them

Everyone hates on Kira x Odo, but in Season 3 Kira gifts Odo a plant for his new apartment and he puts it in his bucket, I'm ,,, 🥺

@consumablejoy @justmichelle listen, I don't think they're the best pairing (obviously ... you've seen Bareil)

but I think Kira deserves to be loved the way Odo loves her, and I love to see it 🥺
