Why are private equity investors buying up fostering agencies & homes in England?

Well, if you think its because they have a better idea of how to support & enhance the well-being of vulnerable your people, you're an incurable optimist.

What the PE firms see is a sector where fee income can be increased easily & money siphoned out of the system to feed investors' 'need' for returns.

Once again we are seeing profiteering on the backs of the vulnerable!

You know, I've worked closely with USN, and there's different cultures south of the border. In some ways, Maine is similar to our local culture, except all the Magaheads living in the rural areas, but they may even have picked up the *polite* bug but theirs may be out of common sense to attract visitors. Raising tariffs and threatening annexing doesn't sound polite and we mirror that back

Thought for the day: Why do organic farmers have to be the ones who label their products as organically grown? Why isn’t it the other way around? Why doesn’t legislation require non-organic products to carry a label saying “grown with chemicals”?

Currently in the shop I’ve got 5 people attending a writing workshop, 2 people who found the place due to my links with the local City of Sanctuary and a guy who comes in to read quietly. Later I’ll have the local LGBT+ org members dropping in.

This is what I want on my Saturdays. Inclusion and community.
