Good. Anti-cheat has no place in the kernel. Even disregarding the issue with it locking games to specific platforms, it's a security incident waiting to happen.

I'm absolutely sick of everything trying to run inside the kernel. It's bad design.

I just returned from a screening of a 35mm print of 2001: A Space Odyssey

I've lost track of how many times I've seen this but it's the second for me on the big screen — the first was about 6 years ago in Nashville, a pristine IMAX screening

today: a ‘roadshow print' and it was worn to hell — lots of marks + crackle + heavy scratches at the reel changes — but I loved that, esp. as a contrast to the last time I saw the movie

it made it seem soulful

3 Photos taken at noon, 1pm and 2 pm show the enormous amount of water of an increasing flooding: Noon, you still see houses, cars, wet asphalt. At 1 pm the houses and cars are gone, you can only see the roofs of the buildings, not the car anymore. At 2 pm there are no more roofs. A lone chimney or small installation on one of the roofs is still visible. And some off the ground power lines plus trees/treetops. Everything else is submerged in water.
