Happens extremely frequently, yeah. Best I've managed to do is develop an obsessive compulsion to get all emails read and dealt with, which usually works, but if I've got too many emails coming in I'm susceptible to alarm fatigue. I've had to cut down what I receive emails from, moving all newsletters to RSS feeds and adjusting settings for accounts to keep myself from getting emails that I don't need to take action on. That way when I get an email, it's usually an actionable item and not a false alarm.

I hadn't thought of it in terms of executive dysfunction, but that makes sense.
There's a whole social dysfunction aspect of ADHD that doesn't get talked about much.
