The Palestinian Permanent Mission to the UN submitted a first draft resolution Tuesday to the General Assembly demanding Israel end its presence in the occupied Palestinian territories within 12 months.
An emergency session was held at the 79th UN General Assembly on the legal consequences of Israel's activities in occupied Palestinian territories.

As Israel continues its brutal attacks on the Gaza Strip, the new corridors it is building as part of its policy of dividing Gaza are changing the geographical structure and fabric of Palestinian lands.
Israel has built military roads such as the Netzarim Corridor, the Philadelphi Corridor and the David Corridor, separating the cities from each other in order to divide the Gaza Strip, confiscate Palestinian lands and turn them into projects.

It is deeply troubling that Israel has been allowed to join the first global treaty on artificial intelligence (AI)—an agreement meant to regulate AI’s responsible use while upholding human rights, democracy, and the rule of law.
For 11 consecutive months, Israel has weaponized AI in its genocide in Gaza, deploying AI-driven surveillance and automated targeting systems that have inflicted devastating civilian harm.

China held the US responsible for the failure to reach a ceasefire in Gaza as the Israeli war on the besieged Palestinian enclave nears one year, Anadolu Agency reports.
“Had the US not shielded one side time and again, multiple resolutions of this Council would not have been flagrantly rejected and defied,” Chinese Ambassador, Geng Shuang told the UN Security Council on Monday.

When @acavan first donated to Mastodon for Harris, the goal tracker was at zero and the target was $1000. He was one of the first three donors. Today, he brought us to $600,000 and beyond.
If you want to donate while the tracker outpaces a target, you have a rare opportunity right now, while I decide upon our next goal. secure.actblue.com/donate/mast…

So you’re looking to harvest user data to sell to ai/ads to stay afloat?
Have you lived long enough to see yourself turn into the villain? Fuck, Mozilla, can you please do better?
How did that look-aid taste? Cause, you know, it seems like it contains poison… it says AI on the bottle: I don’t know what you don’t get?!?!

Do less VPN and AI. Focus on your original, true mission: Open platforms and protocols are what the Internet currently needs most urgently.

The main reason you still exist despite a majority of people in the FOSS community heavily disliking you is a lack of proper alternatives. Once it exists… k thx bye.

The only sad thing is Firefox, which is still the only viable option for a working browser.
If it wouldn't be for Firefox, I wouldn't miss Mozilla if it would cease to exist tomorrow.
How can a once beloved foundation go down the drain so badly?

your wording it as an "experiment" might imply you have something of your own planned afterward...

I cannot understand the way this is communicated though. Yet another communication failure.
And leaving the #Fediverse altogether in favor of X/Twitter and the likes, would be just plain wrong.
❓ Can we expect Mozilla to communicate through another Mastodon instance?
Ruben Capiau
in reply to Mozilla • • •For those criticizing Mozilla's #AI experiments: if they wouldn't integrate at least some AI features in their browser (e.g. the AI sidebar in Firefox Labs and the summarize/simplify function), Firefox would quickly become irrelevant against browsers that do offer tighter integration with AI (Edge, Chrome).
You don't need to like AI. But don't pretend nobody's interested in AI features.

If you're unhappy with mastodon.social, that's on you. They're running beta code. You could have run your own server, AS I DO. You could have modified the code there to suit AS I DO. It costs next to nothing to host a server. You don't need a rack.
Even ratemybody dot com ran on a Windows server front-end and a Windows server db back-end on a SHARED gigabit line. It isn't the bandwidth. I have more for my server IN MY LIVING ROOM.
Have you no programmers or sysadmins left?
Who shuts down nearly free advertising?
Leave if you want to. Stay if you want to. But please don't patronize us with this "hard decision" bs. It's insulting.
And consider hiring people not afraid to disagree with your divas. Contrarians save many companies from the stupidity of their masters.
Bye, free advertising. Hello, unneeded black eye.

Not a good decision. It could have been a long-term platform for your own people. Invaluable for this little amount of money.
