We’ve made the hard decision to end our experiment with Mozilla.social and will shut down the Mastodon instance on December 17, 2024. Thank you for being part of the Mozilla.social community and providing feedback during our closed beta. You can continue to use Mozilla.social until December 17. Before that date, you can download your data here (mozilla.social/settings/export), and migrate your account to another instance following these instructions (support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/m…).

@alxlg
Well they launched in may 2023. Then fired everyone after only 9 months. Then they close it 10 months later. Apparently if you choose to make a project fail, by sabotaging it as soon as you launch it, it will fail. Incredible. This is the whole mozilla strategy...

why,i am tired of mozilla shutting everything down without properly developing and marketing products, mozilla.social had potential and is going to Mozilla Graveyard to join many products with potential not unlike mozilla.social,i give up on mozilla
in reply to Mozilla

"Ever since we shutdown mozilla.social and disengaged from Mastodon, the sentiment analysis on our social media posts regarding our AI initiatives shows positive reactions went up a staggering 857%! I guess everyone on X seems to like them! A great win for our sharehol—I mean, our sponsors!"

I just hope the money you save by shutting down mozilla.social can be used to go towards your AI chatbot bullshit that none of your users actually fucking want.
in reply to Mozilla

that’s unfortunate to hear. Where will the Mozilla account’s handle be moved to?
in reply to Mozilla

I would say “I cannot believe this”, but actually I do.

I have no words. It’s so sad and infuriating.

in reply to Mozilla

Suggestion: make #Librewolf redundant by making a free noncommercial open source browser.

That’s all we want; that’s why I donate.

WE DON’T NEED YOU TO BE A VPN, A CHATBOT, OR AN “ETHICAL” ADVERTISER

JUST DELIVER THE BROWSER YOU WERE CREATED TO DELIVER

in reply to Mozilla

Mozilla graveyard is starting to get full and you're jump into ads and AI is *not* what we want. We want an open source, non-data collecting and independent web browser and mail client via Firefox and Thunderbird, in order to avoid the Chromium monoculture.

in reply to Mozilla

Lmao Mozilla could teach a masterclass in how to piss off all of your users and drive your business into the ground. Great decision here, I’ll be looking forward to the next useless chatbot in the browser though!
in reply to Mozilla

very sorry to hear this. Anyone from there that is looking for a server is welcome at IndieWeb.social.
in reply to Mozilla

Can you be honest with us about what is going on with your company? How can we help you get back on track? -Sincerely, a concerned, supportive user.
in reply to Mozilla

come on guys, it's just a bog-standard mastodon instance. it costs you pennies to run and gives a clear official channel for mozilla communications in the fediverse. surely you can stand to spend a few dollars of the hundreds of millions you get from google for search to keep it open?
in reply to Mozilla

In my list-of-companies-I'd-like-to-be-able-to-repect this is another nail in the coffin of mozilla.
It's amazingly hard to find a browser that's both functional and respectful. That's capitalism I suppose 😞
in reply to Mozilla

You don't have to imitate Google either in their habit of shutting down every service they launch.
in reply to Mozilla

What result from the experiment is behind the decision? Cost / maintenance hours / community fit etc.

I can't imagine there being another social network with a higher ratio of Firefox users than here.

/Firefox user

in reply to Mozilla

outside the engineering teams, a Firefox account never actually came to Mastodon. On Threads, Firefox doesn't even use the Fediverse integration.

I always found that a little weird.

But, I guess we now know - outside engineering, the Fediverse is not something Mozilla + Firefox ever really believed in.

Mozilla is so damn lazy. That must be why they want AI to do all their work for them. Company quickly cratering.

Yet another totally stupid decision. Sniffing to much LLM farts recently?
in reply to Mozilla

this is such a bummer. I thought Mozilla's experiments with the social web were truly some of the most exciting (and sustainable) things Mozilla has worked on in years. Really sad that it's getting shut down so early.
in reply to Mozilla

hey mozilla, not surprizing at all after you included ppa ad tracking into Firefox. Disgusting! :blobcatangery:
in reply to Mozilla

Are you gonna post a more elaborate statement about why you're closing mozilla.social and/or how well the experience went? Just vaguely saying it's shutting down isn't very helpful.

[*insert rant about mozilla here*]

in reply to Mozilla

I ask from you a more detailed reason.
You can have arguments.
But just that single post won't cut it.

If it's money related, may I see true figures ? Because from your last public business numbers, you were funding things that totally alienate both your users and contributors / devs.

If it's to prepare a new federated kind of software / plaforms, cudos to you, if you feel limited on mastodon, but really we need more answers from an org as big as you. You can't be fad chasing. That's breaking people's hope and donations into you.

in reply to Mozilla

with this being an experiment and all, will you write sort of what you learned? What questions you wanted to answer with the experiment and what those answers were?

you make it harder and harder and harder with each passing announcement to support you guys…
in reply to Mozilla

I am not surprised that Mozilla is saying goodbye to the Fediverse. However, I am interested in the reasons and arguments that led to the closure of the own instance.
in reply to Mozilla

maybe people will migrate to librewolf.social then.
in reply to Mozilla

does anyone have any recommendations

i will stop using firefox and thunderbird ASAP

because mozilla has decided to piss off their decades long users

idiots

in reply to Mozilla

What was the reasons for shutting the server down? It does not take a lot of resources to run these services in cost or hours.
in reply to Mozilla

You really managed to properly tank a once stellar reputation, this is a truly appropriate capstone to that effort. Good job. Now fuck off.
in reply to Mozilla

How much does this instance cost for you per year compared to all the money you burn outside of your core business?
in reply to Mozilla

RIP bozo.

I'd like to see the Mozzarilla Sticks join other instances, but not if they're backing the corporate side of Mozilla; the AI crap, Pocket, etc.

in reply to Mozilla

as a single individual who is financing alone for the majority of expenses of my Mastodon gaming instance, I will only say that I have no plans to close it and I will continue setting aside a part of my free time to serve the gaming community which has placed their trust into me as their sysadmin and their player two.

Thank you, Mozilla, for participating in Fediverse. We shall meet again.

I'm so glad I've never received an invite to Mozilla's instance and instead chose @Vivaldi, when I gave up running my own Mastodon server.

Since I have to use at work some apps that work better with Chrome based browsers, it was also near the moment I switched my main browser from Firefox to Vivaldi.

It surprises me how a small company can maintain a Mastodon server, while Mozilla Foundation cannot.

Thanks for the hard work. I wonder if you've considered releasing the login-with-Mozilla-account code for mozilla.social as Open Source software for others to use.
in reply to Mozilla

Deeply disappointed in what Mozilla has become lately. Closing Mozilla Social was to be expected at some point, I guess it shows how much you care about the Fediverse when your own instance lasted just a year and a half.

At least I'm hoping you'll publish what you've learned (if anything) out of this 'experiment' soon enough.

in reply to Mozilla

the amount of goodwill y’all have opted to burn up over the past couple of years is absolutely staggering.
in reply to Mozilla

So you chose to support AI (high impact to climate, cannot be trained without stealing, will leave huge amounts of people without a job) instead of the fediverse.
in reply to Mozilla

Could you at least ask @firefox@threads.net to enable post federation? If they don’t know how to do it, @verge has created instructions theverge.com/24107998/threads-…
in reply to Mozilla

Judging by this comment section I wouldn't blame anyone for leaving this toxic shotshow.

Thank god there are nicer corners of the Fediverse out there. But if the crowd in this comment section is the kind of people who are drawn towards commenting on on Mozilla operated platforms, there's little doubt Mozilla is better off distancing themselves as much as possible.

Christ.

in reply to Mozilla

You insult our intelligence by lying to us, it was not a hard decision, you wanted to end this because you wanted more money to develop AI features that almost all of your real userbase hates.

All because AI is the next big trend, this isn't any different from what Brave did with Crypto, and we all know how that turned out. Chasing trends will just alienate your userbase, and destroy the trust and reputation you've earned. Don't think for one moment that trust is indestructible, once you've blown it you'll be hard pressed to earn it back.

in reply to Mozilla

bye bye Mozilla! :blobcatwavereverse: Good thing we have Vivaldi here that is not Ad and AI Company like you have become! :blobcatfacepalm:

This will be shutdown, so Mozilla can put more resources into integrating "ai" capabilities in their browser. For people wanting to stay on Mastodon, I suggest moving to Vivaldi. (their browser is "ai" free :)

Maybe go back to focusing on the core product, that is the browser. It has become such a cranky, slow, bloated joke that #Firefox is mostly unusable now. And that's probably not because of the codebase, since Floorp and Librewolf perform much better, and the new Zen browser is about as good as any Chromium-based browsers.

I suspect Mozilla is a front for Google, for the purpose of deflecting accusations of monopoly yet make Firefox so shitty to entice people to download Chrome.

in reply to Mozilla

just destroying company reputation day after day. it is a shame that firefox is still the only usable alternative to chrome/chromium
in reply to Mozilla

Believing in everything and nothing at the same time. As a former Mozillian, I feel that you have totally lost the plot and only represent despair. Despair that the org doesn't believe in its mission.

But I know you never listened to people anyway, so what's the point?

you should also drop out of your browser business. Seems, you're not worthy to be part of a trusted, open minded society. Say, do you also support Trump like Musk, since you fell back to it's lap?
in reply to Mozilla

well this sucks.
As a long time fan of @mozilla, it's becoming hard to respect or recommend any of your products. Seems like most get discontinued or abandoned.

Please, pick a product direction and _stick_ to it.

in reply to Mozilla

I suspect that the ”We” that made the decision didn’t find it hard at all.
in reply to Mozilla

Now it's quite "funny" to read the description of your own instance here at Mastodon:

"The social network of the future: No ads, no corporate surveillance, ethical design, and decentralization!"

I guess you don't believe in those things now, isn't it? You only have one job: do things better than Chrome alternatives. Is not that difficult!

in reply to Mozilla

I feel like the Mozilla I knew 10 years ago would not have made this decision.
in reply to Mozilla

Unbelievable... I guess it’s too expensive for CEO to maintain server running. Wow!
in reply to Mozilla

Time to take another look at Librewolf. And Waterfox is evidently no longer owned by ad company System1.
in reply to Mozilla

there are many mozilla projects launched with great fanfare and quickly aborted. in my opinion you should better calibrate the choices to avoid all these missteps. on the closure of mastodon you should explain and detail the reason for the choice. the press release is too vague, too fast.
in reply to forza4galicia

@forza4galicia
Likely the enticing allure of the AI trend and them wanting to dump money into it. I guess to @mozilla "market research" just means making shit up and doing what you want.
in reply to Mozilla

damn I really wonder how close we are to “100% the only reason I use firefox is that it’s not chromium”
in reply to Mozilla

Much better to stop an open source independant instance that can run on a Rasperry Pi to put Google's money on AI.

in reply to Mozilla

Another incomprehensible decision by your leaders. It is getting really hard to like you and your products.
in reply to Mozilla

couldn't take the heat over your "AI" VC pandering, huh?

Well, bon voyage, but remember: no matter where you go, when you get feedback about your AI plans from real, actual, everyday people, it'll be overwhelmingly negative. If that doesn't seem to be the case, you aren't hearing unfiltered voices.

in reply to Mozilla

That Sucks.

If looking for a new home the #VivaldiSocial server seems like a nice place and they make a decent alternative browser too.

Kind of awesome how people can keep going even though their corporate server packs up.

the move away from an open web to embrace the AI fever dream is the wrong one. Disappointment is an understatement.

in reply to Mozilla

Please, no data capture, no sharing our data, no spying, no adtech, no AI.
in reply to Mozilla

So, you'll stay on Twitter and presumably Blue sky, but not Mastodon?
in reply to Mozilla

running any type of social site, even on fedi, isn't free. And considering that you've had questionable finances forever this was likely coming sooner than later.

It doesn't feel good nor inspire confidence that your new focus is at odds with what your mission has been for the last 2 decades. I wonder, if (likely when, given your history) you also move on from that, you will still be a relevant project at all.

in reply to Mozilla

I’m curious, what exactly is the experiment? If it’s annoying your users until they get fed up enough to leave then the experiment appears to be a great success!
in reply to Mozilla

Are you *actually* telling us that you, Mozilla, one of the largest FOSS companies in the world, can't afford to host a server for 270 MAU?

Very big L, Mozilla.

in reply to Mozilla

that's extremely upsetting, it's like you've gone completely opposite of the ideals that made you great and embracing open source and open systems.

You've really lost the way as an organization. Yes I still use Firefox, but Mozilla as an organization is disappointing. You'd rather focus on AI I guess than help develop an open system to communicate on the fediverse.

Firefox has totally become Google and is ok with killing off products loved by their community.

in reply to Mozilla

For a second I thought this post read „We’ve made the hard decision to end our experiment with Chatbot integration“, but that wouldn’t satisfy your techbro managers, would it
in reply to Mozilla

probably shut it down because of all the nerdy types in here like "Mozilla, why don't you just focus on making a great browser rather than paying an unqualified CEO too much money to drive terrible ideas..." and the like
in reply to Mozilla

Believe or not most of your users are Linux or other floss OS users. So if you want to keep going in the same way you are doing lately I don't see any value you can give me. If I see your crap in Firefox I don't find any difference between you or other chromium based browser.

I didn't expect anything from you and you still disappoint me. I hope your company disappears as soon as possible if you are not going to give any value.

in reply to Mozilla

This is a really unfortunate decision. I'm not sure how Mozilla is dropping the ball on providing these services when all it takes is some light moderation and server hosting of existing web interfaces. 🤷

I really hope you guys turn things around but it's really not looking good as a firefox user looking around. @Vivaldi is still around and active, by comparison.

in reply to Mozilla

what went wrong in the experiment? I mean, why did you take this decision?
in reply to Mozilla

Damn, fellas! I never even tried Mozilla Social, althrough I always wanted to, but never got the invitation. Why did you let this happen then?
in reply to Mozilla

is mozilla gonna keep a presence here? Are you gonna keep an account here to post about Mozilla?
in reply to Mozilla

it’s a real shame you guys couldn’t find a way to monetize this while also neglecting it for years on end and using the resulting revenue to bolster your executive pay. Missed opportunity.
in reply to Mozilla

Mastodon is a pain to run, I understand this decision.

It would be consistent and good to also end your experiments with cryptocurrency and "AI".

Focus solely on the web browser. If you can also keep up the privacy advocacy (like the big expose on automakers collecting data and having horrific privacy policies), but if you can only do one thing and do it well, make it Firefox.

in reply to Mozilla

What a shame. All that to put shitty AI in your browser.
in reply to Mozilla

I can't believe it takes as many resources as useless AI…
in reply to Mozilla

What a shitty announcement, not a link to an article detailing the reasons, not even a brief explanation.

Disappointing 🤷‍♀️

in reply to Mozilla

Is it very expensive? How many accounts do mozilla.social have?
in reply to Mozilla

Sad to hear this! But w/ only 87 posts, you weren’t really using this as a comms channel much(!). And w/ not really using relevant hashtags in yr posts (y’know, like #Mozilla or #Firefox ) even fewer people will have seen yr posts as they flowed past in the stream… I hope you’ll maintain a Mastodon account somewhere else? (Otherwise this is yet another sad sign of what used to be the best hope for a #communitarian web continuing to get ever more lost at management level.)
in reply to Mozilla

so that means you will no longer support mastodon? your presence will still be here right?
in reply to Mozilla

Is there a direct reason why?

Is it too costly to run the server? Is - as I suspect - the community found more on Bluesky in particular, not here?

in reply to Mozilla

It sounds like you're upset about having a way for people to complain to you about the bad things you're doing. How long until you can't even be contacted about issues by mail or phone?
in reply to Mozilla

Dillo, Tor, and Ladybird do nearly everything I need. I like Mozilla, but they are not what they once were.
in reply to Mozilla

This is very disappointing. I was looking forward to the instance's full public launch and have been anticipating it for a long time and really believed Mozilla could become a leader in open social media and the fediverse.
in reply to Mozilla

wow you all sure gave up on that quickly ... Never even really launched it at all.
in reply to Mozilla

So you can spin up a bunch of expensive datacenters for AI experiments, but can't handle independent social media that can be run for... *checks VPS contract* $20 a month??
in reply to Mozilla

yo: a why would be nice?

Oh, shit… going away from public spaces…
Job posting for ads… and ai…

So you’re looking to harvest user data to sell to ai/ads to stay afloat?

Have you lived long enough to see yourself turn into the villain? Fuck, Mozilla, can you please do better?

How did that look-aid taste? Cause, you know, it seems like it contains poison… it says AI on the bottle: I don’t know what you don’t get?!?!

in reply to Mozilla

This decision sucks. You make @Vivaldi the only browser hosting a Mastodon server for its users, and thereby you give up a major feature-wise advantage of your ecosystem.

Do less VPN and AI. Focus on your original, true mission: Open platforms and protocols are what the Internet currently needs most urgently.

in reply to Mozilla

The moment another FOSS browser (engine) reaches feature parity with Firefox and Chrome you guys are fucking screwed.

The main reason you still exist despite a majority of people in the FOSS community heavily disliking you is a lack of proper alternatives. Once it exists… k thx bye.

in reply to Mozilla

With all due respect, I can understand not wanting to moderate user posts but you should keep the instance alive for official announcements and news because a lot of people done use X anymore.
in reply to Mozilla

Well, that is a massive error. Mozilla, you are a mess. Get it together.

Aside from Chromium-based and Firefox-based browsers, there is a third type:

in reply to Mozilla

Wow, this is almost as popular as your pivot to ads and AI 🤡
in reply to Mozilla

I pay for my me.dm account why not charge to maintain the service?

Maybe run a kickstarter if you are not sure if there is sufficient support.

in reply to Mozilla

Disappointing. I don't think AI is the future for Mozilla. Figure out your funding stream and keep working to support an open internet - to the benefit of Mozilla and everyone else.
in reply to Mozilla

This is the level of commitment we've come to expect from Mozilla.
in reply to Mozilla

Honestly all these replies are kinda proving the point of why Mozilla is shutting down their instance...
in reply to Mozilla

When you expect nothing, really *nothing* from a company that has been getting worse and worse for years - and you are still disappointed.

<Insert Trevor Noah voice here> Byeeeee!

in reply to Mozilla

Will you transfer your account to somewhere else or just drop your presence on the Fediverse?
in reply to Mozilla

19½ months. That's how long Mozilla was prepared to listen to a small, unfiltered subset of their users, for a laughably meager maintenance cost.
in reply to Mozilla

I thought @mozilla (#mozilla) prefers open web and open standards.
But seems they prefer proprietary closed source commercial web services for social media. 😡
in reply to Mozilla

@FirefoxDevTools @FirefoxPerf sad to see you go. You are my source for Firefox webdev infos and I finally felt informed. I could even get some of the info to colleagues at work.

@mozilla it would be nice to state not just that it was a "hard decision", but rather *why* you’re shutting down mozilla.social

in reply to Mozilla

and do you have or will have another account on any other mastodon instance?
in reply to Mozilla

For years Mozilla manages to surprise me with decisions directly in the opposite direction if what I call reasonable.

The only sad thing is Firefox, which is still the only viable option for a working browser.
If it wouldn't be for Firefox, I wouldn't miss Mozilla if it would cease to exist tomorrow.

How can a once beloved foundation go down the drain so badly?

in reply to Mozilla

what's the reasoning for this? do you simply not have enough money to maintain it? well then, i guess you should make your products have value, and maybe people will be willing to invest.

your wording it as an "experiment" might imply you have something of your own planned afterward...

in reply to Mozilla

Why was this decision "hard" for you? Could you elaborate in one or two paragraphs, please?
in reply to Mozilla

It is sad that mozilla opened an instance for its community and then closed it again after a year and a half. Sustainability is different.
in reply to Mozilla

All that because many, many people are telling you openly here on the Fediverse about all the bullshit you're doing with the browser and many other things and you are not able to silence all of them?
Nice move Mozilla! Yet again and as usual.
Instead of doing something good, you're doing another bunch of crap things and shooting yourself directly in the knees. Bravo you! 👍👏
in reply to Mozilla

And so you continue your descent into becoming utterly useless and irrelevant.
First you embrace AI, despite nobody wanting it, now you're turning your back on the fediverse.
I'm old enough to remember when you had values.
in reply to Mozilla

I can understand Mozilla not wanting to moderate a Mastodon instance and focusing their efforts elsewhere.

I cannot understand the way this is communicated though. Yet another communication failure.

And leaving the #Fediverse altogether in favor of X/Twitter and the likes, would be just plain wrong.

❓ Can we expect Mozilla to communicate through another Mastodon instance?

This entry was edited (3 months ago)
in reply to Mozilla

For those criticizing Mozilla's #AI experiments: if they wouldn't integrate at least some AI features in their browser (e.g. the AI sidebar in Firefox Labs and the summarize/simplify function), Firefox would quickly become irrelevant against browsers that do offer tighter integration with AI (Edge, Chrome).

You don't need to like AI. But don't pretend nobody's interested in AI features.

#AI
in reply to Mozilla

Welp, if there's ever a bad decision to be made, Mozilla will be sure to make it. It's never ceased to amaze me how the company/foundation is just so absolutely un-self-aware of how they present themselves to their own users.
in reply to Mozilla

You misspelled "asinine."

If you're unhappy with mastodon.social, that's on you. They're running beta code. You could have run your own server, AS I DO. You could have modified the code there to suit AS I DO. It costs next to nothing to host a server. You don't need a rack.

Even ratemybody dot com ran on a Windows server front-end and a Windows server db back-end on a SHARED gigabit line. It isn't the bandwidth. I have more for my server IN MY LIVING ROOM.

Have you no programmers or sysadmins left?

Who shuts down nearly free advertising?

Leave if you want to. Stay if you want to. But please don't patronize us with this "hard decision" bs. It's insulting.

And consider hiring people not afraid to disagree with your divas. Contrarians save many companies from the stupidity of their masters.

Bye, free advertising. Hello, unneeded black eye.

in reply to Mozilla

Thank you so much for the self destruction program, Whoever Is In Charge.
Get lost with your AI fad.
in reply to Mozilla

oh, you were still using it?
Oh well, bye then.

At least my friends at @Vivaldi are active and responsive on the fediverse

in reply to Mozilla

The people using this instance were mostly closely connected to #Mozilla. Moving is easy in the fediverse. But these accounts will lose their place of origin, their roots connected to your company.

Not a good decision. It could have been a long-term platform for your own people. Invaluable for this little amount of money.

in reply to Mozilla

so where will this account migrate to? You're still committed to communicating with your stakeholders presumably: we're here.
in reply to Mozilla

have you written about what factors went into this decision, and what you learned during the closed beta?
in reply to Mozilla

But you have enough time and money to shove #AI down our throat!

You are really going downhill and that all of the expense of your volunteers and users. If @Vivaldi would have been open source, I already switched. I probably have to go with a reliable fork.

This entry was edited (3 months ago)

Wow. This sucks. Do you guys even believe in open standards?

At least you announce it 3 months in advance and give instructions on how to migrate.

But why?! If you can't afford the one server I'll buy one for you.

in reply to Mozilla

Downhill with Mozilla, the search for alternatives has begun. #FuckAI

Bye Mozilla! I have made the easy decision to end my ‘experiment’ with Firefox. Seeing as you’re plunging into AI and advertising…how are you better? I’ll stick with DuckDuckGo and Safari.
in reply to Mozilla

Aww... 😔 did mozilla get spooked away from what people actually want due to their corporate overlords giant sums of cash? Who'da thunk. 🤡 All I can think of is this gif attached, then walking back to their masters with their tail between the legs. Their #noticemesempai moment collapsed under their own hubris. Freedom doesn't seem what those in charge actually want. Go home Mozilla/Firefox, you're drunk.

as a former firefox user that you’ve driven away with your bad decisions, why are you trying to alienate your remaining users?

This is sad news. You should have limited this instance to Mozilla members. That would have kept hosting and moderation costs at a bare minimum, while maintaining a public profile and openness stance.

Thank you for being an amazing company. You are full of amazing people and ideas. Even if some don't work out, there will be more to come. Cheers!

it would be great if mozilla did more for mozilla.social . vivaldi (not saying i like the browser), has many users on vivaldi.social as it includes it in it's browser... when I open firefox, can't really say anything hints at the exitence of mozilla.social... would be great if they tried that instea of closing... i believe this would be impportant not ownly for the #fediverse , but also to #opensource

Tech Cyborg reshared this.

Shutdown mastodon but pushing ads. I hope you enjoy your continued decline - the last of us holders on failed to hold you accountable well enough before this.

No idea why I should recommend FF over Chrome anymore. Not a goddamn whit.

And I hope you just fail completely. It's over. We lost. You capitulated on DRM, Manifest instead of XUL, and now Ads

To the believers still working there?Get out, it's not worth the death of your soul while self-deluding.

@🪱Wormius🪱 @Mozilla We need a new mozilla/firefox-like organisation in order to do our new free/libre browser/internet navigator.

you can close down this instance so that people can't yell at you anymore about it, but that will not reverse the trend you are fully leaning into that will, mark my words now, be the death of your organization. mastodon.social/@sarahjamielew…
you compromised your most important values and alienated the people you needed most. i only hope firefox can be recovered from the ashes of your org.

or you can move your account to social.roadfm.fr :D
