Today in Labor History December 16, 1871: Louise Michel went on trial for trying to overthrow the government during the Paris Commune. She would later be exiled to New Caldonia, where she became an anarchist and a school teacher for the children of colonists, as well as indigenous people there. During the Commune, she was elected head of the Montmartre Women’s Vigilance Committee. She also participated in the armed struggle against the French government. In her memoirs, Michel wrote the following about her state of mind during the commune: “In my mind I feel the soft darkness of a spring night. It is May 1871, and I see the red reflection of flames. It is Paris afire. That fire is a dawn.” She also wrote “oh, I’m a savage all right, I like the smell of gunpowder, grapeshot flying through the air, but above all, I’m devoted to the Revolution.”

The U.S. gained 64,000 jobs in November but lost 105,000 in October as the unemployment rate rose to 4.6%

Hiring has clearly lost momentum, hobbled by uncertainty over President Donald Trump's tariffs and the lingering effects of the high interest rates the Federal Reserve engineered in 2022 and 2023 to rein in an outburst of inflation.

Do you believe in ghosts? I don’t—but I find the idea both intriguing and unsettling. If ghosts truly exist as invisible, intelligent entities, able to linger even in our most private moments, that would be deeply disconcerting. Imagine the Spirit of Christmas Past arriving to reveal memories you’d rather forget. In truth, all of us carry such shadows.

But ghost dogs—now that’s a gentler thought. Picture your late, furry companions padding around as they once did, loyal even beyond death. It’s not such a frightening notion, is it? And really, who’s to say it doesn’t happen? You can’t prove it doesn’t.

Which brings us back to the question of proof. As far as I know, there’s no credible evidence that ghosts exist in any form. What we have are stories—passed down, retold, embroidered—about spirits and unseen presences. You’re asked to trust the teller, even though science offers no support.

That doesn’t mean the

Nochmal zurück zu euren Preisen. Und zur ABC-Analyse. Die ABC-Analyse beschreibt ja die einfließenden Kosten in Relation zueinander. Das kann man auch darstellen, ohne Endpreise anderer Projekte bekannt zu geben und ohne die Kalkulationsgrundlagen auszuplaudern.
