The next Unicode version (18.0) will get almost 13,000 additional characters, an almost 8 % increase over the approximately 160,000 currently assigned code points: unicode.org/alloc/Pipeline.htm…
More than 11,300 of the 13,000 new characters are for the Small seal script, an ancient style of Chinese: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Small_se…
Unicode has room for encoding 1.1 million characters, so we aren’t close to running out of space any time soon.
