Square Enix is investing heavily in Playtron's "PlaytronOS" A Linux based OS, based on Fedora SilverBlue, similar to SteamOS (which is more or less Arch with KDE).

So far so good, the laptop boots without error and keyboard/touchpad seem functional. Now trying to address the led matrices. For that they provide some #rust based code, but of course it doesn't compile, even after manually installing a gazillion dependencies. This cargo stuff is always such a pain, it never works and you have to spend hours debugging it just to get something that should be a simple python script to run... Luckily there's a python module as well!

Oh godz, the python code uses pysimplegui, and that pops up a dialog that says 'PySimleGUI has gone pro' and requires me to f-ing register on their website.
